Its history dates back to 1933 when the first air terminal was opened in Minsk, but the airline was only officially founded on 5 March 1996 when the local division of Aeroflot was nationalised and consequently renamed to Belavia.

Batumi, Georgia Batumi is often referred to as the 'Pearl of the Black Sea'. A charming 'seaside' city, it's the second largest in Georgia in terms of both size and population. It's especially popular during summer and has seen a steady increase in the number of visiting Turks, particularly due to geographical proximity.

Gogebashvili Street, Batumi, Georgia Daily: 11.00am - 1.00am Argo Cable Car is one of the most visited tourist attractions of Batumi that brings you up to the viewing platform at the top of Anuria Mountain. From there, you can marvel at the spectacular view of the region. I found it pretty surprising that the cable car operates all the way till 1.00am everyday.

51 Rustaveli Avenue, Batumi, Georgia Tue-Sun: 11.00am - 6.00pm Opened to the public in 1975, Batumi Dolphinarium was the first in the whole of the Soviet Union. The facilities were upgraded in 2011 with new pools and better water filtration and temperature systems for the welfare of the dolphins.

Western Part of Batumi, Georgia A seaside walkway that's approximately 7 km in length, Batumi Boulevard offers a delightful walking experience with an amazing view of the Black Sea. Conceived by A. I. Smekalov, then the governor of Batumi, the boulevard began to be constructed in 1881.

During the planning stage, my BFF and I stumbled upon Sky Tower Hotel (5*) that's located near the charming Ardagani Lake.

Kutaisi, Georgia Kutaisi is Georgia's third largest city in the country in terms of both size and population. It used to be the capital of the of the Kingdom of Georgia in the Middle Ages. In an effort to both decentralise the Georgian government and acknowledge the importance of the city, the Parliament of Georgia was moved to Kutaisi in 2012.

GEO: Bagrati Cathedral

Bagrati Street, Kutaisi, Georgia Daily: 9.00am - 8.00pm The Cathedral of the Dormition, which is more affectionately known as Bagrati Cathedral, was built under the reign of King Bagrat III in 1003. It suffered heavy damages throughout the centuries, but with conservation efforts in place, it has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994.

GEO: Gelati Monastery

Motsameta Hill, Kutaisi, Georgia Daily: 10.00am - 6.00pm Gelati Monastery is a medieval monastic complex founded in 1106 by King David IV of Georgia. As one of the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the greater Kutaisi region, the monastery is definitely worth a visit even though its exterior is still undergoing renovation at the point of writing.
