AZE: Highland Park

Southern end of Mehdi Huseyn Street, Baku, Azerbaijan Located on the highest point in the capital city, Highland Park is a terrace that offers the most fabulous panorama of Baku and the world's largest inland body of water, the Caspian Sea. It's also home to Martyrs' Lane, a memorial and cemetery dedicated to national heroes and civilians who perished during turbulent times in Azerbaijan.

JPN: Meriken Park

2-2 Hatobacho, Chuo, Kobe, Japan Built on a reclaimed land, Meriken Park is Kobe's most popular waterfront park. Once devastated by the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake, it's now home to some of the iconic landmarks of the port city. The word 'Meriken' was how the Japanese referred to an American during the Meiji period, simply because there used to be a US Consulate General near the park.

Krolewska, Warsaw, Poland Facing the largest square in Warsaw that goes by the name of Pilsudski Square is the oldest public park of the city that covers an area of 15.5 hectares. Ogrod Saski (lit. Saxon Garden) was opened in 1727 as one of the first publicly accessible parks in the world.

Trinity District, Minsk, Belarus Daily: 9.00am - 9.00pm Island of Tears is a hauntingly serene place connected to the city of Minsk by an arch bridge. The small island is where a memorial stands, commemorating Soviet soldiers from Belarus who perished during the war in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1988.

CAM: Choeung Ek Genocidal Centre

Roluos Village, Sangkat Cheung Aek, Phnom Penh, Cambodia Daily: 8.00am - 6.00pm Situated approximately 17 km outside from central Phnom Penh, Choeung Ek used to be the biggest killing field under the Khmer Rouge regime. From the genocide museum, it took us slightly more than an hour to get there by chartered bus due to traffic jam. Over a million people were executed there between 1975 and 1979.
