Yuasa, Wakayama, Japan Located to the south of Wakayama City, Yuasa is a small, but thriving port town. Since I was in the prefecture, I made it a point to go to this birthplace of shoyu (Japanese soy sauce). In the past, Yuasa was a resting place for pilgrims travelling the oldest pilgrimage route in Japan known as Kumano Kodo.

Zamkovskaya Side-Street, Icherisheher, Baku, Azerbaijan Daily: 10.00am - 6.00pm Maiden Tower is a 12th century tower that houses a museum showcasing the story of the historic evolution of Baku. Along with  Palace of the Shirvanshahs , the tower has been in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list since 2001. Till date, nobody has come to a foolproof conclusion of the design and purpose of the tower.

Zamkovskaya Side-Street, Icherisheher, Baku, Azerbaijan Daily: 10.00am - 6.00pm Erected in the 15th century within  Icherisheher , Palace of the Shirvanshahs is described by UNESCO as "one of the pearls of Azerbaijan's architecture". Shirvan is a historical region in eastern Caucasus, covering a sizeable area from the western shores of the Caspian Sea in the east to the Kura River in the west. The rulers of Shirvan were given the title Shirvanshahs.

93 Stamford Road, National Museum of Singapore, Singapore Daily: 10.00am - 7.00pm Let's continue with Part 2 of "The Doraemon Exhibition Singapore 2022", which is the first global showcase outside of Japan since its first inception in 2002. As a quick recap,  Part 1  showcases one of the three galleries that I went to, together with the gift shop and pop-up café. In today's post, we shall marvel at what the second and third galleries have got to offer.

"The Doraemon Exhibition Singapore 2022" has been running since 5 November 2022, its first overseas debut since its premiere in Tokyo, Japan back in 2002.

I've yet to be able to blog regularly again, but for today, I'm going to put up photos on an ongoing exhibition that truly captivated this highly nostalgic person who very much prefer to live in the late 1980s to 1990s. Titled "OFF / ON: Everyday Technology That Changed Our Lives, 1970s – 2000s", the immersive showcase can be found at the basement level of Singapore's oldest museum until the end of October 2022.

424 Ishikawa, Motobu, Okinawa, Japan As mentioned in the previous post , Japan's best aquarium is the centrepiece of Ocean Expo Park that's located on the tip of Motobu Peninsula in northern Okinawa, which is about 90 km away from Naha. Of course, there are many other attractions that one can look forward at the large park that stretches about 3 km along the coast.

2-8-1 Nagao, Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan Daily: 10.00am - 6.00pm Here's a surprise entry that I initially didn't include in the list of posts for the 2019 Tokyo trip. Opened on 3 September 2011, Fujiko F. Fujio Museum is dedicated to the work of the renowned artist most notably known for Doraemon, my no. 1 favourite cartoon character. I actually visited the museum back in 2013, but since I'm not sure when else will I have the chance to write about it, I've decided to come up with the entry today.

1-6-2 Higashikawasakicho, Chuo, Kobe, Japan [Museum] Daily: 10.00am - 5.00pm [Mall] Daily: 10.00am - 7.00pm Did you know that Anpanman is one of the most popular anime series among young children in Japan? Though I'm not a big fan of it, I did grow up with the superhero that's the personification of  anpan (Japanese sweet bread filled with red bean paste). Out of curiosity, my BFFs and I went all the way to the shopping mall dedicated to it in Kobe.

4-5 Matsugaemachi, Nagasaki, Japan Daily: 11.30am - 8.00pm Have you tried champon before? It's a soupy noodle dish of Chinese origin containing pork, seafood and vegetables that was first served in Nagasaki at Shikairou , a famous restaurant that has stood the test of time since 1899. There's a small museum dedicated to  champon  housed inside the majestic building where Shikairou is.

Maizuru Park, Chuo, Fukuoka, Japan Daily: 9.00am - 5.00pm Korokan was one of the ancient facilities to host foreign diplomats. Located within Maizuru Park that's not far from Akasaka subway station, which shall be the topic of the next post, it was built during the Heian period, the last division of classical Japanese history that lasted from 794 to 1185.

3-11-3 Nagahama, Chuo, Fukuoka, Japan Nagahama Fish Market is the largest commercial fish market in Fukuoka, Japan. The wet market sells the best catches of the day to local traders and clientele, but today's short post is about the Fish Market Centre where you can find restaurants and a small information hall.

1 Whitehorn Road, Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada Daily: 8.00am - 5.00pm Since all the trails were closed due to the unfriendly weather, my BFF and I spent most of our time at the Wildlife Interpretive Centre after taking Lake Louise Gondola . It's a small, but informative centre to discover what makes life in Banff National Park uniquely spectacular.

Said to be the birthplace of the national parks in Canada, it's the lowest component of nine sulfurous hot springs of Sulphur Mountain.

Icefields Parkway, Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada How many of you've had the experience of walking on a glass-floor walkway? For someone who's afraid of heights, the idea seemed rather daunting to me. The cliff-edge Columbia Icefield Skywalk offers a spectacular view of Sunwapta Valley at Jasper National Park.

Icefields Parkway, Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada One of the highlights of Jasper National Park is Columbia Icefield Adventure, which comprises a visit to Athabasca Glacier and an experience at Columbia Icefield Skywalk. The adventure starts from and ends at Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre, a destination in itself to learn about the largest ice field in the Rocky Mountains.
