Cliff(y) Goes Travelling

Bukit Bendera, Penang, Malaysia Located approximately 9 km to the west of George Town, Penang Hill is a popular hill resort comprising a group of peaks, the highest of which is 833 m above sea level. The most developed peak visited by most people is known in the local language as Bukit Bendera (lit. Flagstaff Hill). My group rode on a funicular to reach that peak.

Rokko Mountains, Nada, Kobe, Japan During our December 2019 trip, my BFFs and I had the opportunity to witness two of the three "10 Million Dollar Night Views" of Japan from Mount Inasa in Nagasaki and Mount Rokko in Kobe. Standing at 931.6 m above sea level, Mount Rokko is the highest peak of the Rokko Mountains located in the southeastern part of Hyogo Prefecture.

It's possible to observe Kobe Luminarie, an annual winter light-up held in memory of the victims of the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake, from up there, but most likely you'll need to queue for an extended period of time.

Fuchimachi, Nagasaki, Japan Rising 333 m above sea level, Mount Inasa is located on the western side of the city of Nagasaki. The observatory at the summit offers a spectacular view of the thriving port city and its surrounding areas, especially the so-called "10 Million Dollar Night View" that's considered to be not only one of the best three in Japan, but also in the world.

7 Xinyi Road Section 5, Taipei, Taiwan Daily: 9.00am - 10.00pm Classified as the world's tallest building in 2004 till the completion of Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 2010, Taipei 101 is a skyscraper landmark in Xinyi District of the capital city of Taiwan. It stands at 509.2 m with a total of 106 floors, five of which are basement levels.
