BKK-SIN (2h 15min) Airbus 350-900 ETD:  11.20pm (GMT + 2) ETA: 2.20pm (GMT + 7) I know I've been taking so long, but we're down to the last post of the trip to Azerbaijan that my BFF and I embarked on in the middle of last year. We found ourselves on a plane for the third time in less than 24 hours, heading back home from the Land of Smiles. My previous flight with Thai Airways had been long before the COVID-19 pandemic, aboard one of their Boeing 747-400.

VIE-BKK (10h) Boeing 777-200ER ETD:  11.20pm (GMT + 2) ETA: 2.20pm (GMT + 7) The second of the three flights to fly home the long way was from Vienna, Austria to Bangkok, Thailand. By virtue of miles, I had my virgin experience with the flag carrier of Austria in the Business Class cabin. You'll see a combination of 1 : 1 and 4 : 3 photos in this post as I'm taking some from my Instagram and others from my BFF.

BKK-HKG (2h 50m) Airbus 330-300 ETD: 8.25am (GMT + 7)  ETA:  12.15pm (GMT + 8) Pardon for the hiatus as I've just recently come back from my holiday trip. Let's continue from where we left off with regard to my December 2016 trip. I had the chance to try not only the old Business Class cabin on the inbound flight to Bangkok, Thailand ( HX773 ), but also the new one on the outbound flight to Hong Kong as you're about to see in this post.

Suvarnabhumi 5 Road, Bangkok, Thailand Covering an area of 3,240 hectares, Suvarnabhumi (lit. Realm of Gold) is one of the biggest airports in Southeast Asia. It's sitting on what had been formerly known as Nong Nguhao (lit. Cobra Swamp), which was subsequently drained. In addition, it has got the world's tallest free-standing control tower at 132.2 m.

432 Latkrabang Soi 3 , Bangkok, Thailand My BFF and I were supposed to spend a night at QG Resort before leaving for Hong Kong the next morning. However, the owner sent an e-mail message to me three days prior to my arrival at Bangkok, Thailand, saying that there was a problem with the pipes in the room. As such, he had to cancel my reservation as there were no other rooms available. How then?

REP-BKK (1h 10m) ATR 72-600 ETD: 6.50pm (GMT + 7)  ETA:  8.00pm (GMT + 7) Did you know that the national flag carrier of Cambodia, which commenced operations on 28 July 2009, was established as a joint venture by the Cambodian government and Vietnam Airlines? Cambodia Angkor Air replaced the former national airline called Royal Air Cambodge, which ceased operations back in 2001.

BKK-LPQ (1h 35m) Airbus 319 ETD: 3.05pm (GMT + 7)  ETA:  4.40pm (GMT + 7) Who won't be excited to fly to a country that you've never been to before? Apart from the excitement of going into Luang Prabang, Laos, I also couldn't wait to hop into one of Bangkok Airways' aircraft, adding one more airline into my personal list of airlines that I've flown with.

Level 2 (Near Gate A3), Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok, Thailand Daily: 4.30am - 10.00pm As "Asia's Boutique Airline", Bangkok Airways is unique in the region as it offers lounge access to not only Business Class passengers, but also those travelling in the Economy Class. As my BFF and I fell under the latter for our outbound journey to Luang Prabang, Laos, we had the chance to have a quick bite in between breakfast and lunch in the lounge for free.

THA: QG Resort

Image
85/5 Prachakorn Road  Soi 3 , Bangkok, Thailand It was my second time staying at the homely QG Resort (2*). My first time was two years ago when it was still run by a friendly British guy who has since returned to his home country, passing the ownership to an equally amiable French guy. My BFF and I just needed a place to sleep comfortably before catching our next flight.

HKG-BKK (3h 20m) Airbus 330-300 ETD: 12.40am (GMT + 8)  ETA:  3.00am (GMT + 7) The first time I flew with Hong Kong Airlines was back in December 2015 to Okinawa, Japan in the Economy Class cabin. For the late night flight to Bangkok, Thailand, my BFF and I decided to try the Business Class cabin out, which turned out to be less than 50% occupied.
