UGA: Entebbe International Airport

End of Kampala-Entebbe Expressway, Entebbe, Uganda Entebbe International Airport is located on the shores of Lake Victoria. It's the only international airport of Uganda. It used to serve as the hub for Uganda Airlines, the flag carrier, which was founded in 1976, but eventually ceased operations in 2001. Plans of reviving the airline are underway at the point of writing.

UGA: Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary

Ngamba Island, Lake Victoria, Uganda Roughly 23 km southeast of Entebbe, Uganda's chimpanzee sanctuary founded in 1998 provides a semi-natural environment for the primates to recover and thrive over their lifespan of up to 60 years. Its mission is "to sustainably conserve chimpanzees in their habitats and provide captive care to those who can't survive in the wild."

UGA: Lake Victoria

Entebbe, Uganda One of the African Great Lakes, Lake Victoria is the largest lake by area in the continent. It also claims the title of the world's largest tropical lake with a surface area of close to 60,000 square kilometres. It's surrounded by three countries: Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

[KQ420] NBO-EBB (1h 20m) Boeing 737-800 ETD: 8.30am (GMT + 3)  ETA:  9.50am (GMT + 3) Following the flight onboard Kenya Airways KQ513 from Mali, Bamako to Nairobi, Kenya, my BFF and I were headed to Entebbe, Uganda with an older Boeing 737-800 deployed for KQ420. For flight KQ411 in the opposite direction, we had a chance to fly with one of Kenya Airways' Embraer 190.
