Tbilisi - Kutaisi (5h 30m)

Happy Chinese New Year to those celebrating the festive season! Let's continue with our adventure in Georgia. As mentioned in my earlier post on
Gori Downtown, my BFF and I took train no. 18 from Tbilisi Railway Station on two consecutive days, stopping at Gori and Kutaisi respectively.
After a hassle-free check-out from Hotel City Centre, we walked to the main railway station of the capital city of Georgia. We'd bought our tickets two days prior to our trip to Kutaisi, each costing GEL 8.00 (~S$4.25).

We proceeded to the platform at 8.40am. Our train was already there waiting for less than ten passengers that morning.

At first, we were assigned to seats in the first compartment with a family of three. However, one of the friendly and motherly staff quickly opened another compartment just for the two of us to relax throughout the journey. Thank you very much!

It got a bit boring along the way, so I spent some time reading a few chapters of Mansfield Park by Jane Austen on my spare Samsung phone. That was followed by lunch.

There are two train stations in Kutaisi. We arrived at Kutaisi I, which is closer to the city centre.
