UGA: Entebbe International Airport

End of Kampala-Entebbe Expressway, Entebbe, Uganda

Entebbe International Airport is located on the shores of Lake Victoria. It's the only international airport of Uganda. It used to serve as the hub for Uganda Airlines, the flag carrier, which was founded in 1976, but eventually ceased operations in 2001. Plans of reviving the airline are underway at the point of writing.

My BFF and I departed from Hotel Ruch Kampala at 5.30am.

We were the first two people to proceed with the check-in for Kenya Airways KQ411 bound for Nairobi, Kenya.

Unlike Modibo Keita International Airport in Bamako, Mali, there's free Wi-Fi service available in the transit area. We spent some time checking out the few shops there.

A play on the word 'flamingo', Flemingo operates duty free sales across more than 25 countries.

I use Samsung handphone. What about you?

There's a cafeteria that serves cooked food, snacks and beverages.

There are seats available outside the boarding gates.

There's one lounge called Karibuni Lounge, which is accessible for a fee if you're not flying in the Business Class. It's open round the clock.

In February 2015, South Korea gave a grant of UGX 27 billion (~S$9.82 million) for the three phase expansion and modernisation project of the airport that's slated for completion in 2035.
