POL: Chopin Airport

Zwirki i Wigury 1, Warsaw, Poland

Chopin Airport is Poland's largest and busiest airport. Despite that, it actually handles only over 40% of the country's air passenger traffic at the point of writing. It used to be called Okecie International Airport until 2011 when it was renamed in honour of the famed Polish composer.

The airport is approximately 11 km away from the city centre. My BFF and I left Metropol Hotel early to catch Bus N32 from Warszawa Centralna railway station.

The bus stop for Bus N32 is on the left-hand side of the building.

The journey to the airport took us only slightly more than 20 minutes as there was no traffic jam.

Have you been to Toronto, Canada?

I wonder why we didn't try to use one of the self check-in machines.
As the check-in counters serving our flight to Amsterdam, the Netherlands hadn't opened yet, we spent some time exploring the public area.

What's with the Chinese lanterns? :P

Lotek is the name of the mascot of LOT Polish Airlines.

After checking-in, we adored some paintings before going through security screening and immigration.

I can only feature photos of the Schengen area in this post.

I was thinking of Merlion when I saw that lion made of Lego blocks.

Vernier caliper chocolates!
There are a few eateries and airport lounges, but I only saw one of the latter.

McDonald's is always crowded anywhere in the world, eh?

The lounges at the airport are named after Chopin's famous pieces. :)
There's a small chapel that opens from 5.00am to 11.00pm daily.

It was unfortunate that our flight was delayed, so we went round and round out of boredom.

I recall there was a change of gate for our flight.

Have you flown with Brussels Airlines before?

I shall end of this post with a photo of Pikachu and Melon each.

Ready to use the evacuation slide! xD

Has anyone taken a flight from Warsaw Modlin Airport, the city's second international airport?
