Prinsengracht 112, Amsterdam, the Netherlands
Daily: 9.00am - 7.00pm
It's a museum, but I dare say many people don't really bother to take a look at the exhibition. Perhaps it's more appropriate to call it a cheese specialty shop, which showcases quite an impressive range of products, with a small museum below to satisfy those curious souls on the history of cheese making.
The free tasting is what draws people into the shop, where you can try many varieties before deciding which ones to buy. I recall the glorious smell of the various cheese products wafting in the air.

Care to buy one big wheel or two? |

I really love the beer cheese with a hint of sweetness and smokiness! |
Besides cheese, the shop sells other stuff as well, such as stroopwafel (Dutch thin waffle filled with caramel syrup) and fridge magnets.
Let's go down to take a look at the small museum.

Welcome! Please don't touch the cow and the rest of the items on display. |

I haven't had the chance to visit a cheese factory thus far. |
The Netherlands produces more than 700,000 tonnes of cheese annually. In fact, the figure has exceeded 800,000 tonnes for the past three years.
Anyway, my BFF and I didn't see anyone else downstairs.

Be dazzled by the most expensive cheese slicer in the world! |
Despite the crowd, the staff were all cheerful and friendly, taking time to explain about some of the products and answering any questions related to them.
