BRN: Brunei International Airport

Jalan Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei

Brunei International Airport is a small airport comprising an international terminal that's said to be able to handle up to two million passengers, a cargo terminal, as well as an exclusive terminal for royalty. It was declared open in 1974, opening the country to the world.

My BFF and I requested for an airport transfer service provided by The Empire Hotel and Country Club. It costs B$35.00 (=S$35.00) one-way, either from or to the airport. We were going to fly off to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia with Royal Brunei Airlines.

That was a really comfortable ride~

There are a few check-in counters for dedicated to Business Class passengers.
It turned out that our flight was only going to depart two hours later than scheduled as the airline was was waiting for passengers from Shanghai, China as their flight had been delayed.

Anjung Saujana only serves buffet for dinner during the holy month of Ramadan.

The mosque next to the airport can accommodate up to 300 worshippers.

Pikachu was contented with the light dinner. :)
After having a long chit-chat over dinner, we decided to go to the international zone. As there weren't that many people, we passed through immigration clearance and security screening in no time.

Royal Brunei Airlines are currently serving London, Dubai and Melbourne at the point of writing.

That's the model of a Boeing 787-8 used for destinations mentioned above.
Beyond the security screening area, it was really peaceful. Soft music was aired throughout the area.

Stay tuned for an entry on the Sky Lounge in the near future!

That's where you can securely charge your small gadgets.
To kill time, we went into every single shop, most of which was opened that evening.

I bought some nougats there as there happened to be 1-for-1 deals.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, anyone?

There's a shower cubicle in the toilet, but you have to bring your own towel and toiletries.
We were thankful for the provision to tide us through the delay. Each of us had a packet of pasta with chicken breast, salad and chocolate cake, as well as bottled water.

We tried lying down for a good hour before making our way to the gate where we were going to depart from.
