Jalan Pasar Gadong, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei
Daily: 3.00pm - 12 noon
Said to be Brunei's most popular night market, although I've got no idea of any other night markets around, Pasar Malam Gadong offers a huge variety of food and drinks, as well as a small selection of clothes and other stuff.
Pasar Gadong is a wet market by day and a night market from 3.00pm onwards. Yes, the night market starts before dusk.

It's shown signs of ageing... |
My BFF and I had fun exploring the market, seeing the various stalls. We didn't try a lot of things though as we'd still like to eat something else afterwards.
|
Takoyaki (Japanese octopus balls) are always popular in night markets in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei, it seems. |
|
Ambuyat is the national dish of Brunei: a starchy delicacy made form the interior trunk of sago palms~ |
|
Do you like jackfruits? I do! :D |
We saw two stalls selling non-food items: one with toys and clothes, and another with movie and music CDs.
Anyway, here are two extra pictures: The Mall, which is located very near the market, and Jame'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, which is especially striking as it's always fully lit at night.
|
It was built in 1994 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah's reign. |
I did publish a short
entry on my food blog regarding the food and drinks that we had the other day. Do check it out!
