MAS: Silau-Silau & Bundu Tuhan View Trails @ Kinabalu Park

Kinabalu Park, Ranau, Malaysia

For those not going to climb all the way up to the summit of Mount Kinabalu, there are quite a number of trails available for you at Kinabalu Park, ranging in lengths and difficulty levels. The longest is Liwagu Trail at 5.62 km, while the shortest is Mountain View Trail at 150 m.

My BFF and I decided to go for Silau-Silau Trail, the full length of which is approximately 3 km. We started the trek from the north entrance.

Taking a huge leap forward... I mean going down the steps at the entrance. :P

"Hey, don't walk so fast!" I shouted.
Some of the trails, including the Silau-Silau trail as the second longest trail, are connected to one another.

We didn't go up to Bukit Tupai (lit. Squirrel Hill).

I really enjoyed looking at that plant.

Do expect muddy paths along the way.

Jungle crossing for animals, right? :P

Enjoy the pictures of some flora that we encountered.

Such a beautiful mushroom~ <3

Small chestnuts, I guess?

Anyone wants to be like Tarzan? xD

We strayed off from the last leg of Silau-Silau Trail to Bundu Tuhan View Trail, which is already close to the park reception office.

Barely readable...

Beware! The gazebo is infested by this particular flying species that will follow you.

On a clear day, you can see Kadazandusun villages from up there.

I'm pretty sure that plant has been around since the prehistoric era.

Can you see the ant in this picture?
It was just a few more minutes of slow walk before we reached the entrance of the Bundu Tuhan View Trail.

The ray of sunshine illuminating the wooden post~

Have you been on any of the trails at Kinabalu Park?
