Jalan Tasek Lama, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei
Sat-Thu: 6.00am - 6.00pm
Fri: 6.00am - 11.00am, 2.00pm - 6.00pm
As the lung of the city, Tasek Lama Recreational Park is one of the oldest nature reserves in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. The serene tranquility of the park makes it a popular spot for locals to jog or simply go for a walk to get fresh air.
You can't miss the big sign post, which spells out the name of the park in Malay.
My BFF and I walked for about 10 minutes from the sign post to reach the entrance of the park. |
Two highlights: pantaran air terjun (lit. waterfall) and tempat mendaki tembok (lit. rock climbing wall) |
Do note that you're not allowed to bring a bicycle into the park. |
When we were there, we only saw a total of five people from the time we entered the park to the moment we left.
I wonder if that's the house of the park rangers. |
Whenever I see a pull-up bar, I can't stop myself from doing some sets. |
Reflexology path, anyone? |
Who doesn't love the soothing echo of a waterfall? Anyway, the old-looking rock climbing wall is situated near the waterfall.
As you may have already guessed, swimming isn't allowed there. |
After taking a break, we walked back to the entrance via a different path.
Can you see the tortoise in this picture? |
Hey, Pikachu! :P |
Hmm, I wonder where does that lead to... |
I didn't take a lot of pictures of the flora in the park, but here you go.
Does anyone know what fruit (if it's one) is that? |
Wow, such an intriguing mushroom growth! :O |
If you've got more time to spare and are feeling adventurous, do give the jungle track a try.
