MAS: Dreamtel Kota Kinabalu

5 Jalan Padang, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

"Dream, Believe, Experience" - Dreamtel Kota Kinabalu is a 20-minute drive away from the airport. It has got a total of 160 rooms, but with neither a swimming pool nor a gym. My BFF and I stayed at the hotel on two separate occasions, before going to and after returning from Mount Kinabalu.

The hotel was kind enough to keep our big luggage when we were away to Mount Kinabalu with no additional charge. Anyway, most of the pictures shown in this post were taken on my second stay.

There wasn't any other guests at the check-in lobby when we arrived there.

The keycard shows the address of the hotel, as well as that of the branch in Jakarta, Indonesia.
For both occasions, we were assigned to rooms on the seventh floor.

That's the view from the lift lobby on the seventh floor.

Though inexpensive, it was a mistake to book rooms without windows as the air smelt somewhat musty without any ventilation. On our first stay, there wasn't a toilet mat in the washroom. Apart from that, there was something wrong with the door lock on our second visit.

There's a menu booklet for the 24/7 in-room dining service.

The water pressure of the shower was quite powerful.

I wasn't impressed with the breakfast buffet either. Read here for more details.

Durian or jackfruit ice cream, anyone?

Thank you for the moist omelette! That made my morning, at least. :)
All in all, even though I could sleep pretty well for the two separate nights at the hotel, I didn't really enjoy my stay there. Nevertheless, its strategic location next to Padang Merdeka made it very easy for us to catch a minivan to Mount Kinabalu.
