SIN: SilkAir MI608 (Economy)

ETD: 4.20pm (GMT + 8)
ETA: 5.15pm (GMT + 7)

On 28 November last year, my colleagues and I brought a group of thirty students to Phnom Penh, Cambodia for an Overseas Community Involvement Programme. We began our journey with SilkAir, which is regional wing of Singapore Airlines. It was unfortunate that SilkAir called a few days earlier to notify us regarding the cancellation of the earlier flight, MI606, that we were supposed to take. Thus, we had no choice but to take MI608 and wasted a day that could've been put to good use.

The group check-in was done pretty efficiently at the fast check-in lane.

I can't believe Christmas is over just like that... :'(
Have you got one? :P
It turned out that the flight was delayed for another 20 minutes or so.

There was no way I could take a nice picture of the plane...
SilkAir doesn't have personal TV screens on all its aircraft, but you can access the In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) called SilkAir Studio with your gadgets.

So old school... Haha...

There wasn't much to watch or listen though...
The flight attendants distributed wet towels and immigration forms, followed by the playing of the safety video. By that time, I really couldn't wait any longer to fly.

It was way too wet!

Up, up and away!

Take a look at what I got for dinner below. Read here for more details.

Main course: Mexican Chicken with Flavoured Rice
Dessert: Chocolate-Coated Vanilla Ice Cream
I suppose the only consolation from the delay was the fact that I could witness the sunset as seen in the opening photo of this review. It was beautiful too when we landed at Phnom Penh International Airport.

Lovely colours, don't you think? <3
Parked next to... Actually I'd never seen that livery before... :P
Immigration clearance was pretty fast, I must say. After taking our luggage, we met our local guide and made our way to a restaurant for dinner by bus.

Besides service learning, we did visit a few places of interest in the capital city of Cambodia. Do look forward to the next posts to come! :)
