QAT: The Royal Riviera Hotel

Al Safliya Street, Doha, Qatar

Offering a total of 154 guest rooms, The Royal Riviera Hotel (4*) is 15 minutes away from Hamad International Airport by car. Overlooking Doha Corniche, a waterfront promenade along Doha Bay, it's located less than 1 km away from Museum of Islamic Art in the capital city of Qatar.

There's actually a free shuttle service between the hotel and the airport at specific hours. However, since we'd like to reach the hotel quickly to rest, my BFF and I'd pre-booked a private transfer service with the hotel, costing us QAR 50.00 (~S$18.55).

The temperature outside was very comfortable at 17 degree Celsius.

The check-in process took less than 5 minutes.

The lobby area isn't big, but tastefully done.

The sitting area looks pretty comfortable.

Free flow Arabic coffee, mint tea, dates and dried apricots!

We were assigned to a room on the 11th floor.

The size of the room is 30 square metres.

It's equipped with a 36" TV.

There was only one bathrobe, as well as one pair of slippers.
The bathroom is quite spacious.

Here are photos of the keycard and some money that I got from the money changer at the airport.

Don't you love the vibrant colours of the bank notes?

The view from the bedroom is pretty stunning at night.

Below are some photos taken in the morning.

Panorama shot? Here you go!

The hotel has got a gym and a rooftop swimming pool.

I used the gym twice during my stay there.

There's a small children playing area.

A private banquet room is available.

On one of the days, we had buffet breakfast at the hotel. Click here to proceed to my food blog to find out more about the spread.

Dining in a Middle Eastern palace?

The cooked items weren't kept warm.

Souq Waqif, a famous marketplace in Doha, is walkable from the hotel.
