Tallink is an Estonian maritime transportation company that was founded in 1989. Its history can be traced back to 1965 when the Soviet Union-based Estonian Shipping Company started introducing passenger ferry services between Helsinki, Finland and Tallinn, Estonia.

My BFF and I chose to travel on MS Megastar for the two-way journey between Helsinki and Tallinn, booking the cheapest seats known as Star Class. We managed to get a pretty good deal of €14.00 (~S$21.60) per person from Helsinki to Tallinn and €8.00 (~S$12.35) per person from Tallinn to Helsinki.

Boarding time!

MS Megastar is the first ship in Tallink's fleet to use liquified natural gas as fuel.

Most of the attractions are at Decks 8, 9 and 10.

The ship was named on 1 July 2016, but delivered only on 24 January 2017 after a series of sea trials.
We decided to sit down at the Star Class sitting area first after a long walk to Helsinki West Harbour earlier.

Comfortable enough for me!

This particular photo was taken much later, where many of the seats had been occupied.
Lockers are available near the sitting area shold you need to use one. Nearby are vending machines selling hot and cold beverages, as well as snacks.

For an added comfort, you may want to pay an additional €20.00 (~S$30.85) to get a seat at the Comfort Lounge, which includes a selection of refreshments, coffee and tea, as well as newspapers.

Alternatively, for €65.00 (~S$100.25) more, you can secure a seat at the Business Lounge that includes free-flow food and drinks served buffet style. The lounge also promises a wide range of newspapers and magazines.

Here's a shot of the children's play area before it was flooded with toddlers.

Feeling hungry? Fast Lane is one of the more affordable eateries onboard.

Those shrimp toasts seem very popular.

The hot items ran out pretty quickly that morning, save for the potato wedges.

There's Burger King should you wish to have a Whooper. Alternatively, The Chef's Kitchen or Delight Buffet may satiate your appetite.

Grab a drink from one of the bars and enjoy a live singing performance.

Time for shopping at the massive Traveller Superstore!

Moomin tea and coffee products!

I believe there's a song titled 'Red is the New Black'.

Sit there and be surrounded by luxurious alcoholic drinks.

Let's get some fresh air.

Apparently, Flat Earthers believe that the Earth is not a sphere since the horizon is flat.

Blue-black-white: the sky above the soil of homeland commited to purity of intent and hard work
There's a big round window in the washroom.

Not that I really needed to, but I did check out the parking area.

We didn't check out much of Deck 8, but we walked around a bit just before dropping off at Tallinn.

If you find the selections at Traveller Superstore overwhelming, Lobby Shop is for you.

A few people had already started queueing about 10 minutes before the ship docked at Port of Tallinn.
Here are some photos that I took when we were approaching Tallinn.

St. Peter Line stops by Tallinn enroute from St. Petersburg, Russia to Stockholm, Sweden.

The following photos were taken as we bade Tallinn farewell to go back to Helsinki.

Did you know that rays of sunlight shining through openings in clouds are called crepuscular rays?
The last few photos were taken when the ship was approaching West Harbour in Helsinki, signalling the end of our day trip.

Eckerö Line is another company that provides ferry services between Helsinki and Tallinn.

Lowering the ramps for vehicles~

For those who wish to enjoy an overnight stay onboard, you can take a ferry service at 6.30pm from Helsinki that'll arrive in Tallinn at 8.00am the next day. From Tallinn, the 10.30pm ferry will arrive in Helsinki at 6.00am the next day.
