After a rather eventful journey with its fair share of travel hiccups, I was glad to have finally made it to Australia. There was a quiet sense of relief knowing that I had one last flight to catch before reaching Melbourne. It marked my first time flying Qantas, the country’s flag carrier and largest airline.

After collecting our luggage, we made our way to the Qantas Domestic Transfer section.
Once we'd checked in our bags and picked up our boarding passes, we proceeded through security clearance. After that, we hopped onto a transfer bus that took us across to Terminal 3, a dedicated domestic terminal for Qantas and QantasLink flights.

It was a comfortable ride as the bus was barely full.

Pride is in the air!
After exploring the rather spacious terminal, it was time to board the aircraft.

Take a headset at the gate counter before boarding should you need one.
Seated at 19E and 19F, my travel buddy and I boarded the aircraft through the back door.

Qantas' Boeing 737-800 aircraft are equipped with either 156 or 162 Economy Class seats.

When was the last time you used such an old-school remote control on the armrest, if ever?
To celebrate its centenary in 2020, Qantas released a unique safety demonstration video that takes viewers on a nostalgic, time-travelling journey through 100 years of aviation history.
Bye, Sydney! I know I'll be back someday in the hope of flying with Singapore Airlines in its Suites Class to or from Singapore.

Such a lovely day, wasn't it?
It was nice to see a physical copy of the in-flight magazine.

I'm not a cruise person, but that’s something I’d probably consider signing up for when I retire.
At the point of writing, about half of the Boeing 737-800 fleet have been retrofitted with personal screens.

It's been so long since I last caught a sight of Scream.

I only took a look at a programme showcasing the landscapes of Australia.
I didn't expect a refreshment service on the flight, so it was a pleasant surprise. Served warm, the roast beef and Bavarian mustard sandwich was lovely.
I didn't need to use the lavatory, so I was reluctant to disturb my neighbours as I was seated next to the window. That said, it does make this post a little incomplete without a quick peek at the loo.

The weather upon descent didn’t look as nice as how it was when we departed from Sydney.
![]() |
It started to drizzle before the aircraft came to a complete stop.
At last, we arrived safe and sound in Melbourne.
