Located about 23 km northwest of Melbourne's city centre in the suburb of Tullamarine, Melbourne Airport is Australia's second busiest airport after Sydney. Although Melbourne had kept us thoroughly entertained over the past few days, there was still another country waiting to be explored for the first time.

My travel buddy and I took the SkyBus from Southern Cross railway station to go to the airport.

We arrived at Terminal 2, which serves as the international terminal of the airport, after approximately half an hour. Terminal 1 is dedicated to Qantas domestic services, Terminal 3 is home to Virgin Australia, and Terminal 4 caters mainly to low-cost carriers.

With the formalities out of the way, we stepped into the transit area, where the sprawling Lotte Duty Free store was the first thing to greet us.

The next pathway is flanked by high-end stores.
Melbourne Airport is commonly known as Tullamarine Airport, named after the suburb in which it is located.
