Sisavangvong Road, Luang Prabang, Laos
Daily: 7.00am - 6.00pm
Strategically situated at the heart of the old town of Luang Prabang, Laos, Mount Phou Si stands at 100 m. It goes without saying that the summit is a very popular destination to witness the panorama of the town and the surrounding countryside, especially at sunset.
Be prepared to climb up quite a few flights of stairs.
I saw a woman selling small birds to visitors to be released at the summit. |
Such a majestic Bodhi tree donated by India in 1957! |
After completing the first flight of stairs, you'll see the ticketing booth to your left. A payment of LAK 20,000 (~S$3.50) is compulsory to ascend all the way up.
Time to test your fitness level!
Don't worry, the steps aren't steep at all. |
You'll see someone selling snacks and drinks up there. |
As can be seen in the picture above, there were lots of people waiting to see the sunset. Anyway, there's a temple with a nice gilded stupa called Wat Chom Si at the summit.
Don't be naughty, alright? :P |
I can never get enough of the view of flags dancing in the wind~ |
Do enjoy the scenic view shown in the pictures below.
Allow me to decorate this blog entry with just a photo of myself... xD |
That's the Mekong, which is the world's 12th longest river . |
This makes a good desktop wallpaper, no? |
As we descended the hill, my BFF and I started to get hungry. We decided to go to a particular restaurant, which we'd never thought would be worthy of a post in this travel blog of mine. Stay tuned!
