GEO: Batumi International Airport
33 Nikoloz Baratashvili Street, Batumi, Georgia
Batumi International Airport is a small airport that serves only seven fixed destinations - one domestic and six international - at the point of writing. Having said that, it also hosts seasonal chartered flights to many more cities throughout the year. It occupies a total area of 4,256 square metres.
As my BFF and I were going to catch an early flight to Minsk, Belarus, we had to wake up early. I forgot to take note of the metered taxi fare from Sky Tower Hotel to the airport, but I recall it was less than GEL 10.00 (~S$5.40).
When we reached the airport, the check-in counters weren't opened yet.
Ural Airlines flies from Batumi to Moscow, Russia and vice versa twice a week. |
The moment the counters were opened, we immediately went to one of them before anybody else |
Before going to the immigration checkpoint, we noticed that the café was finally opened. Besides that, there's a 24/7 vending machine selling coffee, canned drinks and snacks.
Apart from looking at some of the goods offered at the duty free shop, there wasn't anything much to do.
That's the one and only lounge in the airport. I believe cash payment is possible to gain access to it. |
The moment I came out of the toilet, the boarding process had already begun.
