GEO: Sky Tower Hotel

7 Sheriff Khimshiashvili Street, Batumi, Georgia

Let's move on from Kutaisi to Batumi, the second largest city in Georgia. The seaside town offers a wide range of accommodation options. During the planning stage, my BFF and I stumbled upon Sky Tower Hotel (5*) that's located near the charming Ardagani Lake.

From Hotel Old Town, my BFF and I took a short cab ride to McDonald's near Kutaisi II train station. That's the place where you can catch minivans to different parts of the country. I forgot to take note of the cab fare, but I believe I paid at most GEL 5.00 (~S$2.70).

The moment we came out of the cab, a minivan driver asked as where we'd be going. He told us that it'd be GEL 10.00 (~S$2.70) per person to Batumi, and we agreed straight away for the 2.5 hours ride through heavy rain.

Kutaisi International Airport is also known as David the Builder Airport.
By the time we reached Batumi, the rain had pretty much subsided. As the driver dropped everyone somewhere on the eastern side of the town, we decided to walk for about half an hour to reach the hotel.

Opened in early 2017, Sky Tower Hotel is a relatively new player in the area that's classified as a 5* hotel. The building is in the shape of a cylindrical tube.

Tastefully decorated hallway or too much? You decide.

Most of the floors have six guest rooms.
We were assigned to one of the rooms on the eighth floor, though we'd hoped to stay somewhere higher.

The double bed is smaller than the standard queen-sized ones.

Not for free~

Despite the gloomy weather, I enjoyed the view from the bedroom.

Ardagani Lake VS Black Sea

Here's just one photo of the night view through the window.

The bathroom was spotless and well-stocked.

A green-coloured loofah spotted!

It was only after coming back from dinner that I managed to snap some pictures of the lobby area, as well as the gym. The indoor swimming pool wasn't operational yet when we were there.

That looks like a comfy lobby lounge to sip a glass of cocktail or two.

Compared to many other hotel gyms, Sky Tower Hotel has got quite a huge one.
We only had once chance to try the breakfast despite staying at the hotel for two nights as we'd be leaving early in the morning on our last day in the country. Read here to see what we had on that quiet breakfast session.

To our surprise, the dining area was empty.

The bread looked hard and dry, so I didn't take any.

Nice presentation of the food items, right?

Before going back to our room, we went up to check the Roof Restaurant out, which turned out to be non-operational as well as of last year. Anyway, we enjoyed the great view on the clear day.

It was used as a temporary meeting room, perhaps?

We visited the restaurant down there for our last dinner in Georgia.

To be frank, I actually don't think it belongs to the 5* hotel category, but we enjoyed our stay there nonetheless.
