Eteläranta, Helsinki, Finland
Market Square, known as Kauppatori in Finnish, is located on the eastern end of Esplanade Park in Helsinki. It holds an interesting tradition of displaying old American cars on the first Friday of every month, but I didn't get a chance to see them last June.
From spring to autumn, the square sees a lot of vendors selling their goods. In general, they're operating from 6.30am to 7.00pm on weekdays, 6.30am to 6.00pm on Saturday and 10.00am to 5.00pm on Sunday.

Look at all those fresh berries! |

Mustikka (lit. bilberry) is the only Finnish word that I can remember because I love the fruit so much. |
Ice cream, anyone? I just couldn't resist the temptation the moment I saw the kiosk.

I had a hard time choosing two flavours. |
Beware of aggressive seagulls that are always targeting your food.
There are so much more being sold than food items.

One stall sells reindeer skins. Did you notice that? |

It's never too early to prepare for chilly winter. |
Throughout the year, there are ferry services from the square to Suomenlinna, a sea fortress that's classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and vice versa.
Nearby is Helsinki City Hall, which has been in operation since 1913. The building, however, started off as a hotel from 1833.
For herring lovers, do keep a lookout for an annual herring market set up at the square in early October.
