CAM: Ta Keo

Angkor Archaelogical Park, Siem Reap, Cambodia
Daily: 5.00am - 6.00pm

Ta Keo is a mountain temple that's one of the tallest monuments in the Angkor Archaeological Park. It's unfortunate that the massive temple dedicated to Shiva was left unfinished. No one can confirm exactly the reason for the abandonment.

The Chinese government is taking part in the conservation and restoration of Ta Keo.

Hi, doggy! Sleepy? :P

The temple has five sanctuary towers. It was built as a symbolic depiction of Mount Meru, a sacred mountain with five peaks.

Bathed in holy light~

Anyone knows the name of this lovely plant?
The steps are quite steep. Before climbing up, I was already thinking how it'd be for me to go down later.

Reached the top of the temple safely! :)
Given that I'm suffering from acrophobia, going down was pretty scary.

One step at a time~
There's a nursery near the temple. I don't think it's opened to the public.

What a scary looking tree...
I shall write about the last destination this coming Thursday. Stay tuned!
