CAM: Wat Preah Prom Rath

Street 9, Siem Reap, Cambodia
Daily: 6.00am - 7.00pm

Not far from the bustling Pub Street is a temple called Wat Preah Prom Rath. The modern feel that it imparts, from the ornate colours to the glistening tiles, certainly conceals its age of more than 500 years.

The temple offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. My BFF and I went in from the side gate, methinks.

There are quite a number of animal statues there.

Which is your favourite?

There's a Buddha statue guarded by three black dogs that morning.

"Don't you dare do anything funny!" xD

There are a few buildings, which I'm not sure what they're built for.

There were only two other tourists when we were there, so it was easy to take nice pictures devoid of people.

That towering structure looks grand.

What an elaborate replica of a boat with a monk holding a rice pot~

One of the highlights is the recreation of a scene of Prince Siddharta on his chariot.

The Khmer script does look intriguing.
There's a small section of the temple grounds used as cemetery.

This piece of information isn't related to the temple at all, but anyway, there's a private cinema for tourists at Angkor Trade Centre that's situated next to the temple.
