CAM: Siem Reap International Airport

Angkor Phnom Penh Street, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Second to Phnom Penh International Airport in terms of size, Siem Reap International Airport is nonetheless the busiest airport in Cambodia in terms of passenger traffic. It's situated approximately 6 km away from town with the new terminal inaugurated on 28 August 2006.

We requested for an airport transfer service from Treasure Oasis Hotel. Upon reaching the international terminal building, we went straight to the check-in counter.

I wonder what's the story behind that monument.

No Samsung Galaxy Note 7 allowed on board! xD

My BFF and I were going to fly with Cambodia Angkor Air for the first time.
We walked through a long corridor to reach the immigration area.

Similar to the layout of Phnom Penh International Airport, passengers have to go through the duty free shop in order to reach the gates.

What a cool-looking Christmas tree made by artisans from Artisans D'Angkor!

I'm not too sure if I'll have the chance to go to Siem Reap, but well, we'll see!

There's Phnom Penh Dining Avenue at Phnom Penh International Airport, and there's Siem Reap Food Village at Siem Reap International Airport.

There are many familiar international brands.

One of the Angkor kings in the past, I suppose?
Bangkok Airways doesn't operate a lounge at the airport, but it provides free snacks and drinks for its passengers at one corner. Plaza Premium Lounge is the only lounge available.

The rest of the time was spent on walking around and plane spotting.

I filled the survey form in Japanese. :P

Sky Angkor Airlines is a joint venture of Cambodian and Korean investors focusing mainly on Korean travel market.

A gate to the other side~
At the point of writing, it's said that the government is looking into the possibility of replacing the airport with a new one that's to be built further away to minimise the damage from noise pollution to the increasingly fragile Angkor Archaeological Park.
