VIE: Noi Bai International Airport [Old]

Phu Minh, Soc Son, Hanoi, Vietnam

Noi Bai International Airport, which is situated approximately 45 km from the centre of the capital city of Hanoi, occupies an area of 650 hectares. It's the second busiest airport after Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. There are two runways serving the airport, which are only 250 m apart.

It certainly isn't the most memorable airport, but there are two terminals now. The older terminal shown here is now solely used for domestic flights, while the new one serves international flights.

The airport was pretty quiet that morning.

There wasn't anyone at the ticketing counter.

We were going to fly in Vietnam Airlines' Business Class cabin, thus we made our way to the Sky Priority counter for a quick check-in and luggage drop.

Following which, we went straight to get ourselves screened, passed through the immigration counter and made it to the transit area.

There aren't that many seats as far as I can remember, but there are quite a lot of small kiosks.

I'm pretty sure you can guess the fast-food chain on the left-hand side of the picture.

Don't you love the colours of Vietnam Airlines' aircraft?

We spent about an hour or so at Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge, which will be featured in the next post.
