SUR: Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport

Luchthavenlaan 1, Zanderij, Suriname

Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport is located approximately 45 km south of Paramaribo, the capital city of Suriname. Serving as the hub for Surinam airways, it's the bigger of the two international airports in the country, the other being Zorg en Hoop Airport.

For the airport transfer from Eco Resort Inn, we boarded a coach that also stopped at Royal Torarica Hotel and Torarica Hotel and Casino to pick up other guests.

We drove past Maarten Luther Church.

As there was no traffic jam at all, the journey to the airport took about 30 minutes.
The check-in hall is nondescript.

We were going to queue behind a group of individuals from China.

The staff serving us was really friendly. BTW, he was the only one who actually bothered to examine our Yellow Cards for the whole trip.

I wasn't sure if the lounge was operating at all.

I recall using the rather weak Wi-Fi at the airport while waiting for boarding.

There aren't lots of things to do at the transit area, so we decided to check out each and every shop available to kill some time.

Is that colourful statue supposed to be Johnnie Walker?

There were less people inside the shops on the second floor.

I took a photo of Surinam Airways' aircraft that we were going to board soon.

If you've been following my food blog, perhaps you can remember where we were headed to next.
