GUY: Brandsville Hotel

89-90 Pike Street, Georgetown, Guyana

My BFF and I stayed at a rather homely hotel called Brandsville Hotel (3*) in Georgetown, Guyana, which offers a total of 34 guests. Its location may not be prime and the furniture has shown signs of ageing, but we enjoyed our stay there, thanks to the very friendly and helpful staff.

A one-way transfer from Cheddi Jagan International Airport to the hotel and vice versa costs US$25.00 (~S$41.55) per vehicle. We waited for about 5 minutes outside of the baggage reclaim area before our driver appeared.

The journey to the hotel took almost an hour.

Demerara River is approximately 346 km in length.
The hotel is situated in a pretty peaceful neighbourhood, but there's a bar-cum-restaurant nearby that's quite happening.

Do you recognise those three landmarks?
After a quick check-in process, we proceeded to our room on third floor.

To be honest, I was actually expecting a normal key rather than a keycard.

Numerous satellite TV programmes are available, but the connection was rather dodgy during our stay.

As for the toilet amenities, I recall seeing towels and a small bar of soap only.

Let's take a look at the view outside the windows.

Can you spot three herbivores?

The hotel runs a poolside restaurant named Spice Garden.

The swimming pool isn't big, but enough a respite from the midday heat nonetheless.

Read here for more information on the basic breakfast provided by the hotel.

The sole fish in the aquarium must be feeling very lonely.
There's also a rooftop hall that we didn't get to see, which can be booked for a small-scale event.
