It was about time for my BFF and me to leave South America. We were going to fly out of Georgetown, Guyana to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago for a short layover with Caribbean Airlines, the flag carrier of the latter. The airline used to be called BWIA West Indies Airways prior to 2007.

From the waiting area of the temporary terminal building of Cheddi Jagan International Airport, we were ushered to the new one for boarding.
"Have an enjoyable flight" - a rather nice touch, no? |
We boarded the aircraft from the rear.
The two flags are Trinidad and Tobago (left) and Caribbean Community (right). |
We were seated at the second row from the back.
I found the seat to be a tad hard. |
Should you wish to, you can bring the in-flight magazine home. |
The boarding process was completed promptly. Shortly after that, the overhead TV screens showed the safety demonstration video.
We eventually took off at 5.35am.
Thanks for the experience, Guyana! |
Drinks were offered to Economy Class passengers. I requested for a cup of coffee, while my BFF had a cup of fruit punch.
I spent the rest of the time reading the in-flight magazine. It wasn't long before we started descending to Trinidad and Tobago.

Most of the passengers would continue their journey with BW484 to Miami, the USA. For the two of us, we'd fly with another aircraft to the sunny island of Sint Maarten in the Caribbean. Just like Curaçao, it's also a constituent country of the Netherlands.
Piarco International Airport is the main airport serving the island of Trinidad. |
No, we weren't going to fly with that propeller plane. |

We were somehow upgraded to Caribbean Plus seats for free. Though it didn't matter much for such the short flight to Sint Maarten, we certainly didn't mind the extra seat pitch at all.
I couldn't put my backpack in front of me, of course. |
We were waiting for our luggage at the makeshift arrival hall. |
We had slightly more than 6 hours before our next flight, so off to the famous Maho Beach we went.
