Al Teelah Street, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
The dhow harbour of Abu Dhabi is nestled within the Al Mina region in the northern part of the city, which is said to be the place where good old traditional practices are still preserved. Are you interested in taking a dhow cruise? There's also a fish market at the marina.
It was a really long walk for my BFF and I to the dhow harbour from
Qasr al-Hosn. We walked through Lake Park before crossing over to the promenade.

It doesn't take a genius to notice that it's an artificial lake. |
|
There's always light at the end of the tunnel, right? |
Despite the strong UV radiation, we enjoyed the cooling winds as we walked along the seemingly neverending promenade to reach the harbour.
|
The promenade is part of the corniche of Abu Dhabi. |
|
We only encountered one other person walking along the promenade, as well as a few bikers. |
At that point in time, I'd already clocked more than 20,000 steps for the day.
|
My guess is that those red and blue vessels are oil tankers. |
|
I believe the last time I had a dinner cruise was more than 15 years ago. |
It took us approximately an hour to reach the harbour from Lake Park by foot. Time to check out Mina Fish Market.
|
You may want to pick your own seafood items and get them cooked at any of the restaurants there. |
|
There are price tags, but you can still exercise your haggling prowess. |
We didn't have lunch inside the fish market, but at a restaurant not far from it.
There are other places that you may want to drop by when visiting Al Mina such as flower market, carpet stores, as well as the various fruit and vegetable shops.
