UAE: Abu Dhabi International Airport
Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Abu Dhabi International Airport is the second largest in the UAE after - no prize for guessing - Dubai International Airport. It's spread over a total area of 3,400 hectares with two runways and three terminals, which are dominated by Etihad Airways, the flag carrier of the country.
My BFF and I booked a ride with Careem to go to the airport from Oryx Hotel before 7.00pm. It cost us AED 104.00 (~S$39.00). The journey was about 30 minutes long.
We're nobody, so obviously we're not going to be welcomed at the VIP Terminal. |
Upon entering Terminal 3, we checked-in for our Etihad Airways flight using one of the self-service check-in machines before dropping off our luggage.
There was quite a long queue at the bag drop counters, but it was moving quickly. |
After security clearance, we explored the transit area.
"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas~" |
Ahhh... Costa Coffee has left Singapore in 2018. |
I love the ceiling pattern. |
Premium dates, anyone? |
We took a look at the food court area on the second floor of Abu Dhabi Duty Free.
Yum Cha: pho is the new ramen! |
Do you enjoy shopping at an airport? Why or why not?
Because a camel is synonymous with the Middle East~ |
Little did I know that Etihad was only 15 years old as of 2018. Anyway, Economy Class passengers can enter some Etihad Airways Business Class and even First Class lounges for a fee. For instance, you can pay US$100.00 (~S$137.65) to enter the Business Class lounge in Terminal 3.
We relaxed at one of the more spacious and less crowded waiting areas for a while before going to our boarding gate.
How often do you get to see restroom cleaning checklist sheet with pictorial illustrations?
In Abu Dhabi downtown, there's a check-in facility known as City Terminal, which resembles an airport terminal building.
