CAN: Samesun Vancouver

1018 Granville Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

If you're looking for an affordable place to stay in downtown Vancouver, especially during summer, look no further than Samesun Vancouver (3*). The brand has been around for more than 20 years at the point of writing, running a few hostels across Canada and one in California, the USA.

The hostel can be easily reached by foot from Yaletown-Roundhouse and Vancouver City Centre metro stations.

I wonder if you can actually find all the country flags within the hostel building.

Do you like the design of your country's flag?

My BFF and I booked a private room for 3D2N that doesn't come with attached bathroom. The flag of Russia is painted on the door.

There's no air-conditioner inside the room, but you can make use of the exhaust fan to suck in cold air from the corridor.

There's also a tower fan provided.

The window is installed with a mosquito net.

We were assigned to a room directly in front of the toilets.

Take note that you need to bring your own toiletries as none is provided in the shower rooms.

The hostel has got a common room, a laundry room and a pantry.

It's been so long since I ate a packet of Cheetos.

The pantry is closed from 12 midnight to 6.00am and from 2.45pm to 4.15pm.
You may want to partake in some of the activities organised by the hostel.

A simple continental breakfast buffet is provided daily from 7.30am to 9.30am.

Choose your bagels! Sliced bread is also available if you don't fancy bagels.

The breakfast is served at the hostel's pub called The Beaver Taphouse.
Quiet hours are strictly enforced at the hostel from 11.00pm onwards.
