To share a bit of history, Cathay Pacific was conceptualised by Roy Farrell and Sydney de Kantzow to fly much-needed goods from Australia to post-war China. In 1982, it became the first airline to fly non-stop from its hub to Vancouver, Canada. It was my turn to fly there with the flag carrier of Hong Kong in June 2019.

Gate 34 is a short walk from Cathay Pacific's The Bridge. My BFF and I couldn't wait to board the aircraft.

The Boeing 777-300ER that'd brought us to Vancouver that day was reconfigured in 2018.
Without a First Class cabin, the aircraft has got 40 seats in the Business Class cabin, 32 seats in the Premium Economy Class cabin and 268 seats in the Economy Class cabin.

I was the first person to board the aircraft.

Do you usually use the blanket provided on a flight?

I was seated at 17D.

In 2017, Evian revealed its new carbon-neutral bottling site in France to the world.

Jurlique is s an Australian cosmetics manufacturer specialising in natural botanical-based cosmetics.
For a start, I had the airline's signature drink called Cathay Delight. Shortly after that, I was handed a hot towel.

Cathay Pacific uses an animated safety demonstration video.

I watched the take-off process from the personal monitor screen.

Is that the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge?
Do you like port wine? I had that prior to the early dinner service.

I fancy the less formal newspaper-like menu booklet that comes with short articles on food trends and dining recommendations.

Have you experienced Cathay Pacific's new long-haul Business Class dining concept? I've written about it in my food blog.

Dinner main course #1: Wok-Fried Seafood in Lobster Broth with Rice
Dinner main course #2: Stir-Fried Pork and Shallot Egg Noodle

At the end of the first meal service, I took one praline and used another hot towel.

StudioCX is the name of the airline's In-Flight Entertainment (IFE). I watched The Lego Movie 2, which I feel isn't as entertaining as the first sequel.

"Everything is awesome!"

The lavatory looks pretty futuristic, perhaps due to the presence of the blue lights.

I had to quickly return to my seat after taking photos due to turbulence.

Time to go to bed! I managed to sleep for close to 4 hours.

I killed a bit of time by playing Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. On one of the tries, I managed to reach the 13th question.

As my mouth felt rather itchy, I went to the galley to get something to eat.

Prior to breakfast, I freshened myself up with a towel and a glass of orange juice.

I enjoyed the breakfast more than the dinner.

Breakfast main course #1: Riccioli with Mushrooms, Broccoli and Pecorino Cheese
Breakfast main course #2: Dace Fishball Congee and Turnip Cake
The flight would be coming to an end soon as we were approaching Vancouver International Airport.

Fraser River is the longest river within British Columbia.

Touchdown!

The aircraft parked next to that belonging to Air China.

The immigration area was jam-packed with people, but thanks to the pretty efficient system in place, we managed to clear it within 30 minutes.

Do look forward to more posts on my adventure in The True North!
