CAN: Richmond Night Market <YOU ARE HERE!>

To go to the night market, my BFF and I took the metro from Richmond-Brighouse station to Bridgeport station using the one-day tickets that we got for free.
It takes about 10 minutes on average to walk from Bridgeport station to the night market. |
What's Ultraman doing there? |
The queue was really long, but it wasn't moving too slowly. There's an admission fee of C$4.75 (~S$4.95) per person aged 8 to 59 years old, which can't be paid using C$50 and C$100 bills. We had to withdraw smaller bills from one of the ATM machines nearby, and thankfully we were allowed to go to the cashier directly after that without having to queue all over again.
We finally entered the night market at 9.45pm.

Dinosaurs first appeared at the night market in 2016. |
An uncle like me actually stopped to listen to the man singing xin yuan yang hu die meng (新鴛鴦蝴蝶夢).
We skimmed through the section lined with non-food stalls, which wasn't crowded.
Seeing that apparel with a monkey design suddenly reminded me of Monchichi. |
I've never had my fortune told. What about you? |
Most visitors could be find queueing at the various food and drink stalls. Check out my
food blog to see the few items that we tried.
How about a plate of Singapore chicken rice for C$11.00 (~S$11.45)? |
I was so tempted to get some deep-fried chicken skin, but eventually decided not to. |
Thanks for smiling for the camera, dude! |
When was the last time I ate dragon beard candy, I wonder? |
Fluffy Soufflé seems to be one of the most popular stalls around. |
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like duck is the mascot of the night market.
Richmond Night Market covers an area of approximately 7.3 hectares.
What's your most favourite dinosaur? |
A wild Snorlax appeared! |
Night market isn't complete without games, right?
Test your strength! |
Are you good at tossing rings? |
The VR booth doesn't seem too popular. |
We saw the inflatable angel duck being deflated when the night market was about to close. Don't be sad, duckie, there's still tomorrow!
Take note that there's a transferable 6-visit express pass that costs C$28.00 (~S$29.15), which allows you to skip the queue. Ask others in the queue whether they want to gang up with you for a much faster entry and a slightly cheaper admission fee per person.
