CAN: Sunset Beach Park

1204 Beach Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Situated at the mouth of False Creek, Sunset Beach Park offers a somewhat quieter beach experience in Vancouver. Lifeguards are on duty between late May to early September every year. At the park section, there are walking, biking and inline skating paths.

To reach the park, my BFF and I walked through the happening Davie Street lined with a variety of shops, restaurants and bars. If you're averse to rainbow flags and such, I'd suggest avoiding Davie Street. Best still, stay clear of Canada.

We purposely walked through David Street to see the rainbow crossing.

When we were there in June 2019, the sunset time was sometime after 9.00pm.

The park is a popular location for watching fireworks during the annual Honda Celebration of Light.

Having a picnic after 9.00pm~

Daily visitors to the park include Canada geese.

What was left behind by one of those bipeds~
Let's do a classic tongue twister!

"She sells sea shells by the sea shore.
The shells she sells are surely seashells.
So if she sells shells on the seashore,
I'm sure she sells seashore shells."

217.5 Arc x 13 is a work of art by Bernar Venet from France placed at the beach, illustrating the beauty, balance and malleability of raw steel.

I was hoping for time to come to a standstill as I enjoyed the vista, forgetting about all the worries in life.

Here are two panorama photos that I took that evening.

On our way back, we noticed Davie Street getting more lively.

Are you a sunrise or a sunset person?
