JPN: Hotel Route Inn Kumamoto Ekimae

1-14-19 Kasuga, Nishi, Kumamoto, Japan

From eastern Kyushu, we shall move on to Kumamoto that's located in the central region of the island. The Route Inn group was founded in 1977, currently operating many branches across the country. One of which is Hotel Route Inn Kumamoto Ekimae (3*) is just a few minutes away from Kumamoto railway station.

The hotel has got a total of 170 guest rooms.

Ponta is one of the six biggest point card programmes in Japan.
Its mascot is a raccoon dog.
Besides getting the keycards and breakfast coupons, I was asked by the receptionist whether I'd like to participate in the hotel's eco-cleaning effort. You may choose to skip room cleaning if you're staying for two nights or more in exchange for free drink tokens. Used towels are still changed and rubbish is cleared from the room daily.

Since there were three of us, we got three tokens.
Here are more photos of the lobby area.

That's a soft toy of Higomaru, Kumamoto Castle's mascot.

Complimentary coffee is available from 6.30am to 10.00am and 3.00pm to 10.00pm daily.
The building is divided into two main sections. We were assigned to a room at the sixth floor on the east wing.

Compared to many other business hotels, the room is quite spacious.

The extra bed is just slightly smaller than the main ones.

There's no instant coffee, but remember that you can get brewed coffee at the lobby.

Given the size of the bathroom, I didn't have to twist my body to take photos of it.

Men's and women's care packs are provided.

Here's the view that I got when looking out of the window.

When booking for a room online, I didn't notice at all that the hotel is actually equipped with a public bathing facility that's complimentary to all guests. It thus came as a nice surprise when the receptionist mentioned about it upon check-in.

The public bath is open daily from 5.00am to 10.00am and 3.00pm to 2.00am.

After soaking myself in the hot bath, I used my free drink token to get something cold.

The restaurant serving buffet breakfast is located next to the public bath. Proceed to my food blog for more details.

The sight of scrambled eggs always makes me drool.

It's said that the restaurant imports bread directly from Europe.

I love that creamy Aso milk.
There's a meeting room on the eleventh floor that can accommodate up to 60 people.
