JPN: Tsubame 322 & Huis Ten Bosch 11

[Tsubame 322]
Kumamoto - Shin Tosu (35m)
ETD: 12.11pm (GMT + 9)
ETA: 12.46pm (GMT + 9)

On the last day of the validity of our 5-day JR Northern Kyushu Area Pass, my BFFs and I departed Kumamoto for Huis Ten Bosch in Sasebo. We took the shinkansen (Japanese bullet train) from Kumamoto railway station to Shin Tosu railway station, and then changed to the orange-bodied Huis Ten Bosch train to our final destination.

We spent a bit of time to buy gifts and lunch boxes at Kumamoto railway.

Don't they all look so pretty and mouth-watering?

Thank you, Kumamon, for bringing so many smiles and so much joy.
The JR Northern Kyushu Area Pass covers shinkansen rides between Hakata and Kumamoto, but not between Hakata and Kokura.

Tsubame (lit. swallow) stops at all stations along Kyushu Shinkansen line.
It doesn't have a Green Car, the equivalent of first class car in Japan.

I genuinely had to use the toilet during the short ride.
We arrived at Shin Tosu railway station in no time, which was pretty quiet.

[Huis Ten Bosch 11]
Shin Tosu - Huis Ten Bosch (1h 20m)
ETD: 1.02pm (GMT + 9)
ETA: 2.22pm (GMT + 9)

Each of the Huis Ten Bosch limited express trains has got 8 cars.

We'd reserved our seats on the first day when we arrived in Kyushu.
The conductor didn't come to check our tickets that afternoon.

Welcome to the Netherlands in Kyushu!

The Huis Ten Bosch railway station is small, but there's one convenience shop operating there.

Such a pity that I couldn't take a nice photo of the exterior as it was being repaired...
I couldn't contain my excitement at the thought of having fun at the nearby Dutch-themed amusement park.
