Al Mourjan Business Lounge is Qatar Airways' flagship Business Class lounge, which takes pride in its "resort-like ambience, tantalising a la carte and buffet dining, and unparalleled hospitality". My BFF and I spent most of our layover time of 8 hours at the lounge that's spread over 10,000 square metres.
Before taking the elevator to the third floor, our boarding passes were scanned by a staff member.
Naturally, the lounge isn't short of seating areas. We checked out the one around the fountain first.

That rather jarring sculpture is what you'll see after walking past the reception desk. |
|
Don't you love the reflective ceiling? |
|
Those blue-coloured chairs are really comfortable. |
The lounge was pretty much quiet when we entered, though it got increasingly more crowded with passengers waiting for flights nearing and after midnight.
|
I took that photo at 7.06pm. My flight was scheduled to depart at 1.55am. Calculate the time difference. |
The seating area in the middle of the lounge had glossy wooden floors.
|
Did I manage to take a highly symmetrical photo? |
|
According to Qatar Airways' website, "hand-crafted accents evoke a timeless appeal". |
Here's the area for those who need to catch a nap.
There's another seating area behind glass doors.
Yoou need to pass through that seating area in order to go to the well-equipped business centre.
Have some fun at the games room next door.
The family area has a few spacious compartments.
|
The long sofas seem rather old. |
Nearby is a small room to do simple activities with your children.
I didn't try anything from the a la carte dining area.
|
Such a long chandelier! |
|
Booze, anyone? |
|
I was really tempted by the colourful cakes. |
The buffet area offers a good view of the lounge.
Finally, I had a much-needed shower.

Rituals motto: "We're not here to sell you beauty, we are here to make you feel good" |
