HKG: The Pier @ Hong Kong International Airport
Level 6, Near Gate 65, Hong Kong International Airport, Hong Kong
Daily: 5.30am - 12.30am
During the layover at Hong Kong International Airport, I spent most of the time at The Pier. It's not only the airport's largest, but also Cathay Pacific's most spacious lounge with a total area of 3,306 square metres. Originally inaugurated in 2001, it underwent a major renovation and extension in 2016.

Compared to The Bridge that I visited about two weeks earlier, the entrance to The Pier is rather inconspicuous.
The front desk area is adorned with wooden walls. |
The leftmost artwork somehow reminds me of Hong Kong Park. |
There are four food and drink areas inside the lounge. The Food Hall resembles a market, which offers a variety of quick bites.
Cookies, anyone? |
You can find mostly Western food there. |
The Bar is where you can get your fix of alcoholic beverages, of course.
What's your must-have liqueur? Mine's Baileys Irish Cream. |
The Noodle Bar is most probably the go-to place for many guests.
I had a good dan dan noodle there. |
I also had quite a bit of the refreshing infused water. |
Last but not least, unique to the lounge is The Teahouse, where you can sample seasonal and artisanal tea varieties. Head over to my food blog to take a closer look at some of the lounge's offerings.
Do you like Chinese pineapple buns and egg tarts? |
Chilled fruit and vegetable juice mixes are available too. |
The Relaxation Room is where people catch their naps.
The Sanctuary by Pure Yoga is the very first dedicated yoga and meditation space at Hong Kong International Airport, certainly the perfect place to stretch and relax before your next trip.
Take a look at the seating areas.
The lounge can accommodate up to 550 guests. |

Here's one photo of the male toilet near The Teahouse.
I had a very good shower inside one of the 14 shower suites.
Aesop products galore! |
Powerful rain shower! |
