CHN: Portofino

Xiangshan Middle Street, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China

Overseas Chinese Town is the colloquial name for a cluster of scenic spots in Nanshan District of Shenzhen that features a number of theme parks, such as Window of the World and Splendid China that my BFFs and I visited during our trip. Included in the area is Portofino, a residential area that's a mini recreation of the charm of Italy.

We took about 20 minutes to go to Portofino from Window of the World metro station by foot.

In Italy, Portofino is a fishing village famous for its picturesque harbour on the Italian Riviera. Having a historical association with celebrities and artistic visitors, it also houses exclusive resorts.

One of the two largest supermarket chains of Hong Kong, Parknshop also operates in Macau and mainland China.

First time seeing such a self-service library!
You won't see rugged cliffs and turquoise coves in Shenzhen's Portofino, of course, since it's smacked in the middle of the city. You can, however, enjoy tranquility there.

It was a little bit misty that morning.

Indeed, Pikachu and Melon have always been following me even before I started this travel blog.

We had a delectable lunch with good service at Laurel Restaurant.

We decided to sit outdoor to enjoy the spring breeze while having our dim sum lunch.

The name of the restaurant in Chinese is 丹桂軒 (Dan Gui Xuan).
After lunch, we walked into a small gallery.

Would you like to buy a property at Portofino?

At the point of writing, I've actually never been to Italy before.
The following makes the European feel complete.

Now I'm interested to take a look at Tianducheng, an imitation of Paris in Hangzhou.
