SIN: Ramada by Wyndham Singapore at Zhongshan Park [Phase 2 of Reopening]

16 Ah Hood Road, Singapore

Ramada by Wyndham Singapore at Zhongshan Park (4*) is a long name for a hotel, isn't it? Having a total of 382 guest rooms, the value-for-money accommodation is also equipped with a swimming pool and a gym. The hotel typically provides a shuttle service to and from Novena MRT station, but it's currently suspended during Phase 2 of Reopening.

The hotel is proud of its title as the Best Mid-Range Hotel voted by travel professionals in the Annual TTG Travel Awards from 2014 to 2019. The judging for the year 2020 has apparently been cancelled due to COVID-19.

The hotel is flanked by McDonald's and Starbucks.

Panda soft toys are used for social distancing.

There's a small business centre at the lobby area.

Adjacent to the hotel is Zhongshan Mall, a rather low-key shopping centre with some eateries, shops and a supermarket. The door connecting the two is locked for the time being though.

When doing the booking online, I requested for a high-floor Park View Room. To my delight, I was assigned to a room on the 16th floor.

Unfortunately, the Sky Lounge is off-limits at the point of writing.

The room is 23 square metres in area.

The mattress is by Serta, an American company based in Illinois.

The side table and the sitting area were a bit dusty.

One bottled water was already placed in the fridge by the hotel staff.

The view from the room is pretty amazing with a nice mix of architecture and greenery.

The hotel provides bathroom amenities by Happy Skin Studio. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's a local company.

I recall the rain shower being pretty powerful, which made me happy.

"SAY HELLO TO RED" is written on the keycard. Crimson is the corporate colour of Ramada, which is part of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts that runs more than 9,000 hotels across more than 80 countries.

As part of the COVID-19 precautionary measures, guests are required to make reservations before going to the gym and the swimming pool.

I had a good workout before having breakfast.

I've actually never used a medicine ball before.
I swam twice during my stay.

Besides the main pool that's 30 m in length, there's a wading pool.

Always get your daily does of sunlight, which is a natural mood booster!

I checked out the corridor along which the function rooms.

Follow the butterflies~

New Ubin Seafood is the only restaurant available at the hotel. Self-service buffet breakfast is normally served there, but due to its suspension at the moment, the hotel is providing boxed takeaway breakfast instead. Having said that, my friend and I were allowed to dine there in the morning.

I also had lunch at the restaurant, which moved out of Pulau Ubin in 1992.
Heritage Bar and Lounge is open daily from 6.00pm to 10.00pm.

Below are some photos of Zhongshan Park at night.
