TRY: Turkish Airlines Lounge @ Istanbul Airport

1 Terminal Street, Istanbul Airport, Istanbul, Turkey
Daily: 24 hours

The spacious flagship lounge of Turkish Airlines occupies the upper floor of the transit area of Istanbul Airport. Many have raved about the Turkish Airlines Lounge at the old Istanbul Ataturk Airport, which I've never had the chance to experience, so I'm sure the new one is all th emore going to live up to those praises, right?

The escalator and elevators to go up to the lounge is located adjacent to Gate E1.

While there's a reception counter, we simply scanned our boarding passes at the automated gates.

To the left of the entrance is a business centre.

Even the transparent lockers look nice.
Both of us had accidentally put our power adapters inside our check-in luggage, so we went to approach one of the staff at the suite concierge to borrow them. Anyway, to use the sleeping suites, Business Class or Elite Plus passengers must have at least an 8-hour flight to or from Istanbul Airport, as well as a connection time between 4 and 9 hours.

To get a Wi-Fi password, you need to scan your boarding pass on one of the machines dotted across the lounge.

To the right of the entrance is where the main area of the lounge is. Just like inside the flagship lounge at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, there's a baby grand piano.

Such a lovely dining area!

The lounge covers an area of over 100,000 square feet.
The lounge has an amazing selection of food and beverages, including a couple of gourmet local dishes. Do visit my food blog for more information.

What's your most favourite dessert items?

Have you tried manti, which is commonly described as Turkish ravioli?

Waiting for freshly baked simit (Turkish bagel) to be placed on the cart was truly worth it.

The lounge boasts more than a hundred food and beverage items.

I enjoy eating pistachios, but not as much when they're paired with sweet stuff.

The coffee and tea bar serves strong Turkish coffee.

There are ample seats throughout the lounge.

From what I could see, the staff members were clearing used plates and such promptly.

Are the off-white sofas comfortable enough? I didn't sit there at all during my visit.

There's a quieter section of the lounge that looks more elegant.

The colours and the library-like vibe provide a highly relaxing ambience.

A selection of hot and cold tea is available there.

Keep yourself entertained with some simulators. I also recall seeing a PlayStation 5 console or two, as well a playground for kids, but I've got no photos of those to show here.

Given more time, I would've tried that simulator offering 4K resolution and 360 degree-views of Istanbul.
As shown in the cover photo of this post, there's a diorama of the old quarter of Istanbul

Hagia Sophia was once the seat of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.

The diorama doubles up as a mini racetrack where guests can play with remote-controlled cars.
Before leaving the lounge, we took a quick look at the art gallery.

Is there any other lounge in the world that has its own art gallery?
Shower rooms are available, although the wait can be pretty long from what I heard as the lounge is busy round-the-clock. Once you've registered, you're given a buzzer that will vibrate when it's your turn.
