I've been to Japan a few times, but actually I rarely fly with Japanese carriers. After enduring the long queue at immigration, I finally got my passport stamped. With that done, it was time to locate the transfer counter for the next flight, which marked my virgin experience of touching down at Chubu Centrair International Airport in Nagoya.

The two-hour layover was, thankfully, enough to ensure that I didn’t miss that last flight of the day to Nagoya.

I know that Haneda Airport handles far more domestic flights for the Greater Tokyo Area, but I didn't expect the domestic section of Narita International Airport to be so dead in the late afternoon.

Boarding commenced 25 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

There are 8 boarding gates labelled A to H.

There are 12 seats in the Business Class cabin.

The Economy Class cabin was a little over half full for the flight.

There are 44 rows in a 3-3 configuration.

It was nice to see a footrest.

Along with the safety demonstration video, the cabin crew pointed out the emergency exits.

Off we went, right on time!

At the point of writing, I've never flown with China Airlines before.

There's a drink service for the short flight. I opted for beef consommé and cold tea.

Even though there's a personal monitor on each seat, it wasn't turned on for the flight. Hence, I just settled in with the in-flight magazine to pass the time.

A bit of foreshadowing for what was to come!

Spot the differences!

Have a look at the domestic route map.

I didn't need to use the lavatory for the short flight. Before I knew it, the aircraft landed safely in Nagoya.

Parked next to its competitor~

Something I'd definitely eat in Nagoya!
I tried to find something to eat at the airport before heading to town.
