JPN: Hotel Park

397-2 Minatomachi Gifu City, Gifu Japan

After spending two nights in Nagoya, I continued my journey northward into Gifu Prefecture. Instead of heading straight into the heart of Gifu City, I chose to spend a night along the tranquil banks of Nagara River. As is my ritual whenever I visit the country, I stayed at an accommodation offering a traditional inn experience. Hotel Park was my choice.

As it wasn't a peak season, the hotel was remarkably quiet with only a few guests around.

I wish I had the skill to draw human figures that well.

Choose the size of the wear that suits you best. The sash is provided inside your room.
There's a gift shop offering a wide range of products in the lobby area.

It was raining that afternoon, but it did little to dampen my mood. If anything, I was skipping lightly towards my room.

I booked a room with a river view that included a half-board plan, which surprisingly cost less than S$360.00 at that time.

There’s something about straw mats that exude a quiet warmth and understated elegance.

There are more hotels on the other side of the river.
Snug in a cozy drawer, Pikachu and Melon wanted to sleep like Doraemon.

Let’s check out the spot where you do your private business.

The water used for washing hands is reused for the next flush.
The hotel building is pretty huge.

Supposedly open from 3.00pm to 9.00pm, the kids' activity room was closed throughout my stay.

It looked like the meeting room had just seen some activities.
I had a wonderfully relaxing soak in the hot bath before dinner.

At check-in, I chose to have dinner at 6.30pm. To my surprise, the dining room was nearly empty with only one two other tables occupied. Details can be found in my food blog.

With their bodies and minds completely at ease, Pikachu and Melon had a restful sleep that night.

Good morning! Take a look at what I had for breakfast in my food blog.

Coffee, tea, milk or me?

To wrap up this post, allow me to share the open-air bath that I had all to myself in the morning.

Thank you for the hospitality!
