A long-awaited first for me, flying with ANA in the Business Class cabin allowed me to receive a final dose of omotenashi (Japanese concept of wholehearted hospitality) as I left the country. The flight from to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam wasn't that long, but it offered the perfect introduction to the airline's refined service philosophy.

Boarding began right on time, and within five minutes, I found myself stepping into the aircraft.

The flight isn't considered long enough for each passenger to receive a full amenity kit, but the flight attendants still came around with a neatly arranged basket of items. After that, they offered welcome drinks and bottles of mineral water.

Though I wasn’t hungry, I polished off the refreshment served about 90 minutes before landing.
I really enjoyed the flight, and certainly can’t wait for the opportunity to experience The Room.
Since I had a long transit, I decided to stay overnight at a hotel not too far from the airport.
