It's really been a while since I last flew with ANA domestically. The previous time was way back in 2013 from New Chitose Airport in Sapporo to Osaka Itami Airport. This time, I flew from Chubu Centrair International Airport to Narita International Airport aboard a Boeing 737-800, part of a fleet with an average age of 12.9 years at the point of writing.

Boarding was orderly and efficient. Well, no surprises there, it's Japan after all!



Each of the Star Alliance member airlines is required to paint at least one of its aircraft in its livery.
There are 8 seats in the Business Class cabin in a 2-2 configuration.



The Economy Class cabin is equipped with 158 in a 3-3 configuration.



I was assigned to an emergency exit row.


I wonder what does that 'C' mean?

We pushed back right on schedule. After the safety demonstration video was played, the engines roared to life as we took to the skies.



ANA has incorporated the two-tone blue wedge design since its 30th anniversary in 1982. 
Complimentary beverage service is available on domestic flights.


I had their beef consomme soup and hot green tea.

I spent most of the short flight daydreaming, enjoying the calm atmosphere above the clouds. After the beverage service, the flight attendants came around to offer us sweets.



Before long, it was time to begin our descent.


No prize for guessing the name of that river. I don't know either.


It started to drizzle as we landed.

Time to head to ANA Lounge at Narita International Airport!

NRT-SGN (6h 35m) Boeing 787-9 ETD:  7.10pm  (GMT + 9) ETA: 11.45pm (GMT + 7) A long-awaited first for me, flying with ANA in the Business Class cabin allowed me to receive a final dose of omotenashi (Japanese concept of wholehearted hospitality) as I left the country. The flight from to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam wasn't that long, but it offered the perfect introduction to the airline's refined service philosophy.

UGA: Kasubi Tombs

Masiro Road, Kampala, Uganda Kasubi Tombs is the burial site for four kings of the traditional kingdom of Buganda, as well as other members of the royal family. It was inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites at the end of 2001, given its status as "one of the most remarkable buildings using purely vegetal materials in the entire region of sub-Saharan Africa".
