823 Calle 66, Bogota, Colombia

For a safe, quiet place to stay in Bogota, you may want to consider the Chapinero area, which is one of the more affluent districts in the capital city of Colombia. Hotel Vilar America began as a small family-run establishment in 1979 and has since expanded to provide 73 comfortable rooms for its guests.

Due to traffic, it took my boyfriend and me about 50 minutes, double the expected time, to reach the hotel by car from El Dorado International Airport.

The hotel is divided into two buildings situated diagonally across from one another.

We were assigned to a room in the other building.

The room measures 20 square metres.

The mini-bar items provided in the room are chargeable.

I love the fragrance of the bath amenities.
The breakfast area features quirky wall paintings.

An overseas holiday is usually the time for me to enjoy rice for breakfast whenever available.
We'd planned to stay in Colombia for three nights at first, but a flight cancellation extended our visit to five nights. The unexpected change allowed us to explore beyond the city.
