SIN: Changi Beach Club

2 Andover Road, Singapore

Here's another throwback to pre-COVID-19 days. Started out as Changi Swimming Club in 1972 and subsequently privatised in 1988, Changi Beach Club (3*) has grown into a comprehensive sports complex equipped with guest rooms for staycation. Its vision is to be a premier lifestyle club in Singapore.

Changi Beach Club is located next to Changi Boardwalk West Shelter.

The main building is called the Clubhouse.

The Singapore Sports Council used to manage the property before 1988.
At check-in, I collected the room keys and complimentary vouchers. Note that breakfast isn't included in any of the room rates.

I remember there were quite a few mosquitoes, so you may want to bring insect repellent.

I stayed in one of the 15 Superior Rooms.

There are two queen-sized beds.

Five variants of Bontea: English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Jasmine, Chamomile and Mint

Hand soap, 2-in-1 hair and body wash, is supplied. However, take note that there are no toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Have a look at the view from the room during the day and at night.

After putting down our bags in the room, my friend and I went to the Deck Bar to redeem our complimentary non-alcoholic beverages.

If you're given the choice to take a bottle for yourself, what'll that be?

I had a glass of cranberry juice, while my friend had a can of ginger ale.
Subsequently, we played billiard.

I had a relaxing 20-lap swim in the Olympic-size pool.

A big floaties was put up the following morning.

There's also a wading pool with a water slide.
I'm not too sure if the swimming pool is accessible 24/7, but I saw no one swimming in the evening.

There's a cosy lounge where you can watch TV, read books or socialise.

The drink vending machine only sells cold beverages.
The Sports Complex first opened its doors in 1997. I went there to hit the gym.

It's just a few minutes' walk from the Clubhouse.

The sizeable gym is well-equipped. Apparently I didn't really take many photos there.

Besides tennis courts, there's also a bowling alley there, which I didn't get to see.

There used to be a restaurant called Goldenbeach Seafood Paradise at Changi Beach Club, but the place has been overtaken by a different operator under the name Changi Beach Seafood Paradise.

I didn't manage to write about the restaurant my food blog, but I recall the butter prawns were good.
I shall come up with a separate blog entry on Changi Point Boardwalk in the future, but below are just a few photos of it.
Have you taken a scenic stroll along the coastline there?

Do you enjoy fishing?

Did you know that there's mahjong room at Changi Beach Club?
